About
Dave Hanson has over 25 years of experience working in and with local and state government, higher education, community-based organizations, private businesses and civic organizations. Has extensive experience with leading organizational change, program development, implementation and monitoring.
As president of EOA Consulting he has provided consultation and expertise to businesses owned and operated by individuals with disabilities as well as governmental units, public and private businesses and nonprofit organizations to increase opportunities for business development, inclusion and to increase supplier diversity.
Dave has previously served as Director of the Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Rehabilitation Services under Governor Quinn. Responsible for oversight of a 1400 employee statewide service delivery system for vocational services, home services and disability determination services programs with an annual budget of approximately $900 million.
Dave has also served as Managing Director on the Workforce Institute for the City Colleges of Chicago. We are the directed the development and implementation of innovative job-training programs for Chicagoland businesses and individuals.
Dave was appointed by Mayor Richard M Daley to serve as the Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development, where he was responsible for directing the team to develop creative strategies and innovative programs to meet the workforce needs of local businesses and residents.
Dave was also appointed as Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities where he oversaw the creation and implementation of the Mayoral Task Force on Employment and Economic Development of People with Disabilities with responsibility for creating employment and economic opportunities for people with disabilities.
Dave lives with his family on the northwest side of Chicago. Dave has been active in disability sports for many years. As a wheelchair athlete competed around the world and was chosen to represent the United States as a Paralympian in the 1988 Seoul Korea Paralympics Games.
