Mark is an attorney with over 30 years experience practicing law in the State of Illinois. He is the Managing Partner and CFO of Rusin & Maciorowski, Ltd., a civil litigation defense firm with an emphasis on the defense of employers in work related injury cases. The firm is based in Chicago, Illinois with a satellite office in Champaign, Illinois. Rusin & Maciorowski employs a staff of more than 35 attorneys that are dedicated to representing insurance carriers and employers throughout Illinois.

 

Mark and his firm represent numerous public and private employers. In the field of worker’s compensation defense, Mark and numerous members of his firm have received  multiple exceptional ratings from various legal publication rating services. The firm is designated panel counsel for major insurance carriers including The Harford, Travelers, AIG, State Farm and many others. Additionally, the firm represents numerous major Illinois employers that are self insured. This includes public employers such as the City of Chicago and the Illinois Tollway.

 

Mark suffered a spinal cord injury as a result of a hiking accident as a teenager. He is a T12 paraplegic and has been a wheelchair user for nearly 40 years. He is a disabled business owner who knows the challenges of running a business and dealing with a disability. He helped found the Chicagoland Alliance for Disabled Owned Businesses with a goal of better supporting and connecting this community.

 

Mark has a love for sports and particularly wheelchair sports. He is proud to have been a part of the first championship won by the Chicago/RIC Wheelchair Cubs sponsored softball team and to have competed for many years in wheelchair basketball. He has coached many youth basketball and baseball teams through local park district and church programs. He is married and resides in Wheaton, IL with his wife and children.
